Welcome to Psyched4Success! I am happy you have landed here, as there is nothing I love more than helping children thrive. I hope this brief introduction will give you a glimpse of who I am and what Psyched4Success represents.

I am a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP), which means I am trained in educational systems, developmental psychology, clinical psychology, and special education. Prior to becoming a LEP, I received a master’s degree in counseling and earned clinical hours providing mental health therapy to children, adolescents, and teens. As I gained experience working with children, I quickly witnessed the significant overlap between a child’s social-emotional well-being and their educational functioning. It was then that I realized I was lacking important training in supporting the “whole child,” and decided to further my knowledge from mental health to education, as a licensed educational psychologist. Over the years I have provided therapy to children of all ages in both clinical and school-based settings, and have worked directly within school districts providing psychoeducational assessment to children across all grade levels. My expertise allows me to identify the inner psychological processes that impact a child’s educational experience, but also the cognitive and academic factors that shape a child’s functioning. This holistic approach allows me to understand and support the whole child. So, within my comprehensive psychoeducational assessments, I not only uncover areas of need, I also spend time identifying and highlighting your child’s unique areas of strength to help them feel capable and motivated for success, despite their challenges. This approach is what inspired the name of my practice, Psyched4Success.

Beyond counseling and assessments, my experience working directly within the school system allows me to act as a strong advocate for your child. LEPs are uniquely suited to understand the dynamics of learning challenges and the school system, and can bridge the gap between clinical psychology and education. Navigating complex educational systems can be overwhelming for parents, and they are often disappointed to find that a diagnosis alone is not enough to indicate a need for educational services. Having worked directly within the education system as a school psychologist, I understand the school team’s perspective. I can guide you through these dynamics, and help you understand California Education Code, and the different school programs and resources available for your child to succeed, including Section 504 Plans and IEPs. I have experience working with various public-school districts in LA and Ventura counties, including LAUSD, Santa Monica Malibu Unified, Conejo Valley Unified, William S. Hart Union High School District, Burbank Unified, and Pasadena Unified. I have also conducted assessments for private school students, including those attending Westmark, Buckley, Milken, Emek, and Fusion Academy to name a few. Through my direct experience, I can provide the support and advocacy needed within the education system to ensure your child’s educational goals are met.

Whether your child is facing academic challenges, social-emotional challenges, or you need support navigating the educational system, I am here to partner with you to ensure your child thrives. My goal is to provide a comprehensive, compassionate, and individualized approach to your child’s needs. Together, we can build a path toward lasting achievement for your child and get them Psyched4Success! I look forward to speaking with you.
